B General Construction

Constructing a user friendly homepage and site theme for a Maryland Construction company.

We took on the brief to bring B General Contractors into the next level of contractors, propelling it from a two man team into a state wide group of contractors.

B General wanted to firstly create a portfolio of their work and show case their services, with regular updates and CMS enabled back end to upload new photos and news on project developments.

A key feature in the business model was building a network of contractors to out source work across the state to. We created a feature on the homepage to start a process of offering up services for other contractors. With a few simple steps a contractor can leave their details and areas of expertise for B General to get back in touch with regard to working together.

High up on the site is an easy access quote, similar in style to the contractor forms, it leads the user through a few easy steps to get the quote process underway.

B General already had a brand identity applied to vehicles and stationery, carrying across the brand on to the website, adding the accent colour to lead the eye to action points.

The main image is intended to be randomly pulled from a pool of selected images, loading a new one ever time the page is refreshed. Below it is the 4 main sections of the business, visible above the fold of the page, instantly promoting the skills set of the company to users landing on the page.

The recent projects pulls four random projects from the archive of projects in the projects section. The filter option take the user through to a pre-filtered page of projects as show in the second image. On the filtered projects page, on roll over the title, project date and the standfirst are pulled from the complete project page. Again on this page carries the feature boxes driving users to get a quote or capture data from other contractors to form a state wide network of small businesses.
