Web style for roll out across entire site

Angeldoce, modern design for the modern woman. A visual styling for online women's fashion retailer.

W2 took up the brief of creating a visual style for a homepage to be rolled out across the whole site. To begin with the site needed a brand, we went with a strong but saucy mark that represented the modern feel to the site and would suit the variety of products which Angeldoce stocks, swim-wear, fitness-wear and lingerie.

From looking at the business model, we put across a few feature ideas of our own. Looking at generating a return customer base. Offering an easily updatable home page which can feature new products, discounts or new offers. Cosumers have a lot of options when it comes to online shopping these days and if a business is to succeed in this market then the site needs to be instantly visually pleasing, straight to the point and most of all credible. Consumers are growing ever weary of the pitfalls of the online market place and are constantly on the lookout for companies they can trust. We wanted to offer lots of features for the client to interact with its consumers, more than just offering products on rail approach we wanted to help the client build an online community of friends, building confidence in the brand.

Features such as the style clinic, news and events give the audience a reason more than just a clothing requirement to return to the site, It offers Angeldoce the opportunity to build client relations and trust whilst show casing new products and trends. Showing that the retailer has its finger on the pulse and the stock is update with current trends and is not just a warehouse full of last seasons stock on a discount.

With the 33% feature link, we suggested a collection of icons could be provided to offer a variety of visually interesting feature links which wouldn't require great product photgraphy to get the click throughs required.

Social networking has been the buzz word of 2008 and if businesses are smart this can be utilised for more than just a convenient way to talk to friends. We suggested that Angeldoce grabbed this opportunity to communicate with its consumer and get other consumers talking to each offer about their great deals. So creating groups in facebook, and myspace are great ways in adding extra dimensions to the business and enabling a whole new bunch of consumers to stumble upon the site and features such as bookmarks add to the return traffic.

Visually the site relies upon the fine details of colouring, graphic elements and general polished edges to create the glam feel of a trust worthy site. This we thought was reenforced by the use of stylised photography over the use of hard sell product shots. Combined with regular email newsletters, user account facilities to store delivery information, wish lists and previously viewed items all helped create the credibility of this site.
